Polarized lenses use a filter that blocks horizontally-polarized light, the kind that creates blinding glare when it reflects off flat surfaces like water, wet pavement, car hoods, and snow.
Unlike a standard tinted sunglass lens, which just reduces overall brightness, a polarized lens specifically cuts that reflected glare, improving contrast and visual comfort in bright conditions.
We fit polarized prescription sun lenses from our lens suppliers for patients who drive, fish, or spend a lot of time outdoors in bright light.
